The Verizon Connect Hardwired Tracker connects directly to a vehicle's electrical system. Because it draws power from the vehicle, it reports continuously while the ignition is on and can also send alerts when the vehicle starts or stops, which is useful for unauthorized-use detection outside business hours.
The data this device feeds into the Verizon Connect platform goes beyond location. It typically captures ignition state, engine hours, and inputs that fuel the driver scorecard: harsh braking, rapid acceleration, speeding events. If driver coaching or insurance-tier discounts for safe driving are on your agenda, hardwired is the category to focus on.
