Quick answers

Port?

TCP 5065.

Delimiter?

Carriage return (\r).

Extra fields?

Distance, event, status.

Same as Topflytech?

No — 5065 CR vs 5047 ).

Commands?

None on BoxProtocol.

Box protocol sentences are ASCII terminated by carriage return. Traccar frames with CharacterDelimiterFrameDecoder on \r for TCP 5065, decoding date/time, lat/lon, speed, course, distance, event, status, and related fields. The decoder also participates in ACK behaviour that rewrites sentence prefixes — a detail Topflytech’s ) world does not share.

Delimiter bugs differ

Topflytech fails when ) vanishes. Box fails when CR is stripped by a text logger that normalises line endings. Preserve binary-safe captures.

Setup walkthrough

  1. 1

    Confirm CR-ASCII sheet

    Look for distance/event columns.

  2. 2

    APN + 5065

    Reboot.

  3. 3

    Capture with od/hexdump

    Ensure 0x0D survives.

  4. 4

    Observe distance increments

    Proves richer profile than lat/lon-only.

  5. 5

    Note ACK prefix changes

Expected on some exchanges — not corruption.
