Most common: wrong protocol row (ST-901 must be h02/5013, not jt808) or APN missing data on Expresso/Orange. Resend APN, then server IP/port, wait 60 seconds, and confirm the device id matches the SMS-reported IMEI.

SMS commands return ERROR or no reply
