Quick answers

FMB125 vs FMB140: what's the difference?

FMB125 has RS232, RS485, dual SIM, and a richer I/O profile · designed for fuel sensors and RFID driver ID. FMB140 leads with native CAN bus and K-Line tachograph. If you need fuel-tank sensors, pick FMB125. If CAN/J1939 commercial reads matter more, pick FMB140.

Can the FMB125 read a Mobicom or Tigorad fuel sensor?

Yes via RS232 or RS485. Most Senegalese fleet installs use the Omnicomm or Eurosens RS485 fuel-level sensor wired to the FMB125's RS485 pins. Calibration runs in Configurator. Traxelio reads the calibrated fuel value live.

Does the dual SIM actually help in Senegal?

Yes for cross-border trucking: primary SIM on Orange SN, backup on Free SN or a Mali/Côte d'Ivoire SIM. The device auto-switches when the primary loses signal. For single-city use (Dakar only), dual SIM is overkill.

Codec 8 + GPRS settings are read and written from the same screen. There is no end-user mobile app · Teltonika devices report to a platform, the platform (Traxelio, Wialon, Navixy, etc.) provides the user app.

Common issues

Fuel sensor reads zero or garbage

Most common: wrong RS485 baud rate or polling interval. Check the sensor's manual for default baud (Omnicomm 19200, Eurosens 9600). Configure the matching value in the FMB125 Configurator. Run sensor calibration after wiring.

Dual-SIM not switching on outage

Verify both SIM slots have data plans active. The default switch threshold is 10 minutes of no signal · adjustable in Configurator. Some early firmware revisions had switching issues, update to the latest firmware.

RFID driver ID not reading

Confirm RFID reader is wired to the 1-Wire interface (not RS232) and that the iButton/RFID profile is selected in Configurator. Some FMB125 batches need the 1-Wire jumper enabled.
