Yes · FMB125 is 2G/3G, FMC125 is 4G LTE Cat 1 (with 2G fallback). Same I/O, same Configurator, same Codec 8 protocol. The FMC is the drop-in upgrade as 2G sunsets advance.
Not yet · 2G holds in Senegal and most of West Africa, so FMB125 stays viable. But if you operate cross-border into Côte d'Ivoire or Morocco where 2G is being phased, the FMC125 gives you the LTE upgrade path without losing fuel/tacho features.
Yes, ~$15-25 more per unit. The premium is the LTE Cat 1 modem. Worth it if you're standardizing a fleet for 5+ year life; not worth it if you're replacing devices reactively.

Configurator is a desktop app (Windows) used to set the server endpoint, accelerometer thresholds, geofence rules, and I/O assignments on FMB/FMC/FMM devices over USB. Codec 8 + GPRS settings are read and written from the same screen. There is no end-user mobile app · Teltonika devices report to a platform, the platform (Traxelio, Wialon, Navixy, etc.) provides the user app.

FMC125 supports LTE Cat 1 bands B1/B3/B7/B8/B20 globally. Senegal Orange and Free use B1/B3/B8 · all covered. If the device doesn't attach, check the SIM is provisioned for LTE Cat 1 (some Senegalese postpaid plans default to LTE only on certain APNs).
Same fix as FMB125: confirm RS485 baud matches the sensor, run calibration in Configurator. The FMC125 firmware is identical at the sensor-config layer.
